Marine Growth Buster (MGB)is a diverless tool designed for cleaning of barnacles from offshore jackets or similar subsea structures prior to offshore facilities removal or/and during routine offshore facilities maintenance/inspection. This tool has its efficiency of cleaning marine growth from offshore jacket up to 85 percent of the total area needed to be cleaned.
Marine growth buster uses IP68 waterproof hydraulic actuators and waterproof electric motors, which can be used up to the sea water depth of 100 m.
This tool consists of two grabbers for climbing along the jacket brace and leg. The spreader beam of this tool equipped with padeye at each end for manually positioning the direction using slings.
The tool also equipped with IP68 underwater camera, which is used to monitor and record the tool during operation.
